This is a recipe I discovered when I was a kid. My brother and I made it together and we’ve been fans ever since. It’s a good recipe to try out with your kids as it is really easy and doesn’t need much cooking.
What you’ll need (to make 25 fudge squares):
- 8 tbsp unsalted butter
- 4 tbsp cocoa
- 3 tbsp honey
- 200 gm plain biscuits (I used Sunfeast Lite biscuits)
- 1 tbsp sugar
What you’re going to do :
- Place the biscuits in a clean plastic bag and crush them with a rolling pin. (This is where the kids can help)
- Do this till they resemble fine crumbs and put them in a bowl.
- Put the butter, cocoa, honey and sugar in a saucepan and stir gently on low heat till the butter melts.
- Stir a little more till the sugar dissolves completely.
- Turn off the heat and pour this mixture over the biscuit crumbs.
- Stir it well so that the whole thing is evenly mixed. If too dry, add some honey.
- Put this mixture into a dish and press down with the back of a spoon to level it out. (The kids can help here too)
- Chill for 2-3 hours till firm. Cut into squares and serve.
These are especially great for a kiddie party, but beware of the crumbs!! I plan to try another version of this by substituting half the butter for condensed milk and using multigrain biscuits instead of regular ones. Let’s see how that turns out!
